About the author
Naomi Novik is an American fantasy writer known for the Temeraire series, the stand-alone novels Uprooted and Spinning Silver, and the Scholomance trilogy. She is also a co-founder of the Archive of Our Own project.
Her fiction combines large magical systems with practical questions about education, labour, alliances, and the social arrangements required to survive power. The Scholomance books turn a deadly school into a critique of inherited advantage.
