About the author
Yáng Shuāng-zǐ is the pen name of Taiwanese writer Yang Jo-tzu. Her fiction and research engage with Taiwanese history, food, women’s relationships, and the legacy of Japanese colonial rule.
Taiwan Travelogue is constructed as a translated historical document about a Japanese novelist and her Taiwanese interpreter travelling and eating together in 1938. Lin King’s English translation received the National Book Award for Translated Literature.
