About the author
Shida Bazyar is a German novelist born to Iranian parents. Her fiction examines migration, political commitment, racism, family memory, and the distance between one generation’s revolution and another generation’s life in Germany.
The Nights Are Quiet in Tehran moves through several members of an Iranian German family from the 1979 revolution into the early twenty-first century. The English translation is by Ruth Martin.
