About the author
Peter Frankopan is a British historian at the University of Oxford whose research has focused on the Byzantine Empire, the eastern Mediterranean, Central Asia, and the connections linking Europe and Asia across long periods.
The Silk Roads brought that geographic perspective to a general audience by organising world history around routes of faith, trade, disease, slavery, resources, and conquest. Later work extended the framework to climate and environmental change.
