About the author
Omar El Akkad is an Egyptian-born novelist and former journalist who grew up in Qatar and moved to Canada as a teenager. His reporting included war, military courts, revolution, and racial protest before he turned primarily to books.
One Day, Everyone Will Have Always Been Against This is his first nonfiction book. It joins memoir and political argument in response to Gaza and to his loss of faith in institutions that present their values as universal.
