About the author

Benjamin Graham was a British-born American economist, professor, investor, and author whose work established much of the vocabulary now associated with value investing. He taught at Columbia Business School and influenced several generations of investors.

Security Analysis, written with David Dodd, addressed professional analysis. The Intelligent Investor presented investment policy to general readers through concepts including margin of safety, the distinction between investment and speculation, and Mr. Market.

Start with The Intelligent Investor in the revised edition with Jason Zweig's commentary, keeping Graham's principles distinct from the later market examples used to explain them.
