About the author
Viktor E. Frankl was an Austrian neurologist, psychiatrist, philosopher, and Holocaust survivor. He founded logotherapy, a school of psychotherapy organized around the human search for meaning rather than the promise that suffering itself is meaningful.
Viktor Frankl writes as a psychiatrist and as a survivor of Nazi concentration camps. The first half of Man's Search for Meaning describes camp life through the psychological stages of shock, adaptation, and the difficult return to a world that has continued without those who were murdered.
Where to start
Start with Man's Search for Meaning. Viktor Frankl joins an account of concentration-camp imprisonment to an introduction to logotherapy and the human need for meaning.
