About the author
Richard Powers is an American novelist whose work brings science, technology, music, ecology, and institutional history into stories about individual relationships and moral choice.
His novels include The Gold Bug Variations, The Echo Maker, Orfeo, The Overstory, Bewilderment, and Playground. The Overstory received the Pulitzer Prize for Fiction and placed trees and ecological timescales at the centre of a large human cast.
