About the author
Rebecca Yarros is an American novelist best known for the Empyrean fantasy series. Her books combine military training, dragon lore, political secrecy, disability, romance, and the escalating cost of discovering what an institution was built to hide.
Yarros keeps the pace savage and the political stakes personal. The romance is slow-built and earned, the dragon lore is worked out in satisfying detail, and the twists in the final act reframe the war the school is training its riders for.
Where to start
Start with Fourth Wing; Iron Flame and Onyx Storm continue the same story and should be read in order. The opening volume introduces Basgiath, the dragon bonds, Violet Sorrengail, and the official history the later books begin to dismantle.
