About the author
Orson Scott Card is an American novelist best known for science fiction and fantasy. Ender's Game and Speaker for the Dead won both the Hugo and Nebula awards in consecutive years, establishing a series concerned with gifted children, empathy, command, and moral cost.
Card keeps the excitement of the games close to their moral cost. Ender understands other people with unusual precision, but that understanding can become a weapon. The adults who praise his empathy are also learning how far they can push it without telling him what they are doing.
Where to start
Start with Ender's Game. A gifted child is sent to Battle School, where games are used to shape him into a commander.
