About the author
Neal Stephenson is an American speculative-fiction writer whose novels cross cyberpunk, historical fiction, science, cryptography, and technological satire. His worlds are dense with systems, jargon, infrastructure, and the people improvising inside them.
Stephenson mixes pursuit, satire, linguistics, ancient religion, and network architecture at the same speed. The book's future is excessive on purpose: brand loyalty has become citizenship, information has become a weapon, and even bureaucracy has been outsourced to people with better logos.
