Mustafa Suleyman is a British artificial-intelligence entrepreneur who co-founded DeepMind, later co-founded Inflection AI, and became chief executive of Microsoft AI. His career has combined product development with public arguments about the governance of increasingly capable systems.
The Coming Wave draws on that industry experience to frame AI and synthetic biology as general technologies whose usefulness makes them difficult to contain. The argument is addressed as much to states and institutions as to engineers.
