About the author
Mieko Kawakami is a Japanese novelist, poet, and essayist whose work examines class, gender, bodies, family, labour, childhood, and the language through which social violence becomes ordinary.
Her books available in English include Breasts and Eggs, Heaven, All the Lovers in the Night, and Ms Ice Sandwich. Heaven was translated by Sam Bett and David Boyd.
