About the author
Malcolm Gladwell is a British-Canadian journalist and longtime New Yorker staff writer. His books use social-science research, reported characters, and counterintuitive case studies to make a broad explanatory argument memorable.
That method is strongest as an invitation to look again, not as a substitute for a full literature review. Gladwell's examples often generate productive questions precisely because their neatness can also be debated.
