About the author
Layne Fargo is an American novelist whose books centre ambitious, difficult women in thrillers and romance. She studied theatre and English, later working across dramaturgy, library science, podcasting, and the crime-writing community.
Temper and They Never Learn preceded The Favorites, a figure-skating novel built from a first-person account and documentary interviews. Fargo has described it as combining an ice-skating story with a modern response to Wuthering Heights.
Where to start
Start with The Favorites for an epic ice-dance relationship, They Never Learn for a feminist serial-killer thriller, or Temper for backstage rivalry in theatre.
