About the author
Kiran Desai is an Indian novelist who grew up in India and later lived in the United States. Her fiction combines social comedy with migration, class, family, and the unequal freedom available to people moving between countries.
Hullabaloo in the Guava Orchard was followed by The Inheritance of Loss, which received the Booker Prize. The Loneliness of Sonia and Sunny is her third novel and returns to linked Indian and American lives on a much larger scale.
