About the author
Kenan Orhan is a Turkish American writer whose fiction has appeared in literary magazines and prize anthologies. His first book, I Am My Country and Other Stories, was followed by his first novel, The Renovation.
The Renovation follows people remaking a building while questions of home, displacement, family memory, and ownership accumulate around the work. Physical repair cannot keep the past outside the structure.
