AUTHOR

Hans Rosling

Swedish statistician and public speaker (1948–2017).

About the author

Hans Rosling was a Swedish physician, professor of international health, and co-founder of the Gapminder Foundation. He became widely known for using animated data and public talks to challenge intuitive but outdated pictures of global development.

Factfulness begins with a set of multiple-choice questions about poverty, health, education, population, and vaccination. Audiences across professions tend to answer worse than random chance, a result Hans Rosling uses to investigate how a distorted picture of the world becomes intuitive.

Where to start

Start with Factfulness. Hans Rosling and his collaborators explain why educated people repeatedly misread basic facts about global development.
