Grady Hendrix is an American writer known for horror novels that combine genre conventions with social history, comic observation, and carefully researched institutions. He has also written journalism, screenplays, and nonfiction about the history of horror publishing.
His fiction often begins with a recognisable cultural object—a book club, a furniture store, a heavy-metal band, or a home for unmarried mothers—and then asks whose labour and suffering the familiar story leaves out.
