About the author
Elie Wiesel was a Romanian-born American writer, teacher, activist, Holocaust survivor, and Nobel Peace Prize laureate. Across a large body of work, Night remained the spare central testimony from which his public defense of memory and human dignity proceeded.
Night is brief and deliberately spare. Wiesel records what happened while also tracing the damage done to faith, language, and the assumptions by which a child had understood justice.
