About the author
Alison Espach is an American novelist and professor of English at Providence College. She studied at Providence and Washington University in St. Louis, where work on her graduate thesis developed into her first novel, The Adults.
Her fiction combines grief and social comedy without treating them as opposing modes. The Wedding People places a woman planning her death inside a crowded wedding, using the event's obligations and accidents to create an unexpected route back toward other people.
Where to start
Start with The Wedding People for a tragicomic hotel novel, or Notes on Your Sudden Disappearance for a family story shaped by the death of an older sister.
